On "The Wishing Well," Armacost’s third release as a leader, he showcases his new working unit, featuring Bruce Barth, Ray Drummond, and Billy Hart. After spending two weeks honing the material on the road in Europe, the group
documented a tightly woven set of adventurous music. The recording consists
of four new compositions by the leader, the classic, "Body and Soul," and a
bold reading of Coltrane’s "Crescent." This disc offers the best of both
worlds – the high sound quality of a studio, and the freedom and spontaneity
